The Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy is a therapy based on the science of learning and behavior. It's techniques can help children improve their social skills, self-care skills, communication skills, play skills and ability to manage their own behavior. It can also help to reduce behavior like inattention, aggression and screaming. It is typically used to help people with autism and other developmental disorders learn behaviors that help them live safer and more fulfilling lives. About Vanessa Murphy, M.S., BCBA, CAS

Since childhood, Vanessa has had a desire to help others. In 2010, she started working as a verbal behavior technician treating children diagnosed with autism and related disorders. Once she saw how effective ABA treatment was, she went on to pursue a career in ABA. Vanessa obtained her graduate degree from Nova Southeastern University. She earned a Master's of Science in Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in ABA. Vanessa is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst and a Certified Autism Specialist. Vanessa has devoted her career to community outreach, is an advocate for parents and families touched by autism, and mentors registered behavior technicians as well as student analysts. Vanessa has over eleven years of experience in the field and values person-centered treatment. She understands every child and family has unique needs. Vanessa is a mother herself and sees herself as a compass or guide that joins each family in their journey through treatment. Vanessa likes to focus on areas where children need improvement without undermining each child's strengths.
