This episode of KidzDocTalk deep dives into oral health in children. We learn how to arm parents with tools and tactics to prevent kids from getting cavities, best oral hygiene practices, the benefits of fluoride, importance of dental exams and the purpose of crowns, caps and dental sealants on your kids teeth. This episode covers teeth grinding concerns that correlate with anxiety and stress and how parents can ensure oral health at an early age.

Dr. Rita Patel is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist focusing on providing specialized dental care for children with a caring and gentle approach. Her private office, Sunkidz Pediatric Dentistry, is located in North Miami. (IG: @sunkidzdental)

Born and raised in England, Dr. Patel received her Bachelors in Neuroscience before moving to Florida to complete her Master’s degree in Developmental Biology. 

Dr. Patel earned her dental training at Nova Southeastern University and completed a 2 year post graduate program specializing in pediatric dentistry. 

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her son, husband and friends, relaxing on the beach, cooking and reading.
