Episode 8 of KidzDocTalk  is focused on teenagers. Dr. Jennie and Dr. ZZ walk us through how to inform and protect your child now and for their future when talking about sex, vaccinations, screening and treating for STD's, substance abuse, driving under the influence and more. This episode helps both parents and teens navigate talking to each other about coming-of-age topics and resources such as  healthychildren.org and what doctors can speak to teens about with confidentiality. Learn more about pandemic-related and non-pandemic related mental health adjustments in teens and behaviors parents should look for when it comes to adolescents and peer-pressure. 

Special Guest, Dr. Zulma Zorrilla Pabon from Pediatric Associates' Sunrise Office is known by her patients as Dr. ZZ. She is from Puerto Rico where she attended medical school at San Juan Bautista School of Medicine in Caguas and Residency in San Juan at Hospital Municipal de San Juan. She has been a doctor for 7 years with a passion in Pediatrics. Dr. ZZ has worked in almost all areas of pediatrics including: ER Pediatrics, Hospitalist, Outpatient Pediatrician and Child Abuse Pediatrician. She has a special interest in helping teenagers and child abuse victims.

In Dr. ZZ’s free time, she enjoys gardening, embroidery and playing with her pet dog, Coco. She just recently got engaged and is looking forward to starting a family of her own.
